NYFW #4 Lady Grace
Today I bumped into Grace Coddington, Creative Director of American Vogue, aka Anna Wintour’s right hand, or perhaps Anna Wintour’s muscle! Quite simply one of the most impressive, important and influential women in today’s fashion industry.
I’m lucky to be one of the rare few who she allowed to photograph her, so thank you Grace. Even the journalist & paps stood nearby shockingly stated: ”Oh my God she even gave you a little smile!” Well, I don’t know if there’s a smile, you decide, but she definitely did strike a little pose for me. Sometimes it’s just worth asking the question. Such an interesting lady!
NYFW #2 Tuula
I adore Jessica Stein’s alias ‘Tuula’ jewelry piece. Beautifully intricate.
Tested… Shock Absorber Bra
A friend of mine has introduced me to this bra!!
This is how our conversation went few months ago:
Me: I’m doing my half marathon soon and haven’t figured out my boob area. I’ll have to use lots of stickers and plasters!
Her: Why would you do that? Where do you want to stick them? (She was already picturing it and making a painful expression)
Me: Well, kinda everywhere. I’ve heard a lot of horror stories from people who haven’t used them.
Her: Nonsense, get the ‘Shock Absorber Bra’ and you won’t need anything else. They will stay in place!
Well, I listened, I got it, in my NYC favorite ‘Paragon Sports’, and I tested it over and over again on both short and long distance runs. She was right! (she’s probably reading this thinking: Of course I was right!) It’s the best running bra, take my word for it! Just make sure you get the right size and try it out.
No more shocks!
Garance Dore!
Awesome! That’s how it feels to meet someone you genuinely admire and who’s work has been your inspiration forever. Today at the Diane von Furstenberg show, I was lucky enough to meet Garance Dore, my artistic muse.
The meeting went like this:
Me : Hi Garance, what’s up? [Well, not really], Hi Garance, I love your work! It’s so nice to meet you! [That’s more likely right?]
Garance: Thank you, it’s nice to meet you too!
Me: …..[no words left]……….
She was so lovely and in case you are one of the rare few, who has been living on Mars and not seen her blog, here it is again.
She’s the girls girl and I find her writing to be cheekily funny & very honest. It was her photography that inspired me to take my landscape work into the lesser known and uncomfortable waters of fashion (well at least from the other side of the camera). Don’t even get me started on her illustrations, this girl rocks!
NYFW #1
So what do you do when you want to look stylish and cool but the blizzard ruins all your plans? Follow in Aimee’s footsteps, literally, both heel it up and brave it up! I lazily wore my Jimmy Choo biker boots to keep warm today, but tomorrow at the Diane von Furstenberg show I’ll try to be more ‘New York’, meaning I’ll wear totally inappropriate footwear for snow!
I’m sure you all know Aimee Song, a fantastic fashion blogger, check out her site, but you should equally admire her as an interior designer, stunning work.
Check that shirt!
As you already know I’m a fan of all kinds of shirts, but recently I seem to be into checked shirts, (check, not Czech!). I just find them cool, boyish yet simple and practical, especially with this NYC February weather; I can tuck them into my jeans properly to keep warm.
This one is by J.Crew, my other favourite shirt brands are Steven Alan, James Perse, Helmut Lang, Elizabeth and James, The Kooples, Acne, and Equipment.
My superstar of the day… ’Love At First Sight’
She’s wearing: green apple, kale & spinach
First day of the fashion week…here we go….

NYFW is back!
NYFW is back TOMORROW! Busy times ahead for me, so here’s a look back at all the attention seeking people I enjoyed so much during the last NYFW back in September.
They still truly continue to inspire me with their confidence and colors! My new apartment in NYC is still quite bare of furniture, so I need all the inspiration I can get.
High fashion times commence, this time with freezing temperatures, so layer up!
