A real ‘high’ in NYC

I’m moving my anchor to NYC for a while yet again (after one last crazy Hamburg day) and I found my mind wondering how much the plants have grown on the High Line, yes that’s what’s filling my thoughts, not that I really need to file my taxes in a thousand different countries. The High Line is one of my favorite places in New York, maybe one of the top ten places, no top five, no DEFINITELY top three places!

Whenever I work on the west side of the island, (Milk, Formula, House and other studios are located on that side), I love to finish my day with a stroll along the ‘HIGH LINE’

A working day through Instagram

I thought I’d share a typical day in ‘my office’ with you… Well, I don’t think I really have ‘typical’ days, they all have a different rhythm, call times and locations vary. This post will show how my day often evolves when I’m in and out of a city for a shoot.

This time it was Hamburg to shoot for ‘Tchibo’, so quite easy, no long haul flights, no jet lag, I was actually able to squeeze some exercise in as well, seriously hard as I had a steak dinner the previous night and I don’t recommend running with a cow in your stomach!

Shirt…

I’ve been wanting to get an ‘Equipment’ shirt for ages. Why?

Because it’s a classic!

It’s as classic as Chanel 2.55.

It’s as classic as your first pair of jeans (even-though you didn’t know it at the time).

It’s as classic as Persol sunglasses.

It’s as classic as your old Rolling Stones T-shirt.

So here’s my first ever Equipment shirt, I got it in black and I’m already planning to get it in different colors. It’s so comfy I hope you like it as much as I do?

My tip of the week….. Squeeze your own!

Why go to all the bother, and mess, of squeezing your own fruit juice on a morning?

Firstly though, what exactly do I mean by ‘FRESH’? Well, I mean, chopped in half and squeezed right there and then in front of you before you drink it. Loads of stuff in the supermarkets will tell you it’s ‘freshly squeezed’, it can taste delicious and when the poor little buggers were originally plucked from the trees and ‘squidged’ they were fresh, however they were then treated, usually with heat, so they could sit on the shelf for several days, even weeks. All the nutrients are gone or at least in the main.

When you drink freshly squeezed citrus fruit, you absorb up to 80% more of the nutrients, minerals & vitamins that you would otherwise be missing out on. It’s also good for your organs, juicing your fruit reduces the amount of work your digestive system has to do and benefit the health of the liver & kidneys. This leads to better immunity and overall long-term health.

What’s stopping you?

- One glass of fresh orange juice contains your essential daily dose of Vitamin C

- Fresh citrus juice contains ‘flavonoids’, they lower blood pressure and cholesterol.

- As well as being high in antioxidants it’s high in dietary fibre, thiamine and folates.

- Drinking fresh juice can reduce the damage done by free radicals to the cells in our bodies.

- There are so many different flavonoids and phyto-nutrients in fresh juice that researchers say they can prevent many degenerative diseases, even cancer!

NOW GO MAKE JUICE!!!!

Good morning LA LA land!
