“It’s that time of year when cherries are coming into town!”
I love this season, I think it’s a lot of girls’ favorite, isn’t it? I think I could live on cherries alone! So what is so special about them?
1) They are a good source of vitamin C, E and fiber. All help lower cholesterol levels in your blood. They are also great source of vitamin A, beta carotene.
2) Studies have shown that cherries can reduce symptoms of arthritis, gout and joint problems. They’re superfood for your joints! In Japan they’ve used cherries to treat joint problems for centuries. 6 cherries a day apparently does the trick (so think ahead and freeze a few of the little buggers right now).
They also offer powerful inflammatory benefits and are great for RUNNERS to reduce joint soreness. Just another addition to our chia seeds diet!
3) Rich in minerals- magnesium and potassium. They are essential for healthy bones and teeth, your energy levels and body detoxification.
4) They are full of antioxidants which aid in the reduction of heart diseases.
The cherries on the top picture are from California and are really delicious.
Have a cheerful cherry season!
