Tim Walker’s exhibition ‘Story Teller’ at Somerset House
“Hmmm, which building is it?” A tall guy dressed in a suit is looking around for the right entrance, probably to have a very important meeting in the heart of Soho. A group of three, a woman and two men pass him by, squeezing yet failing to fit on the tiny sidewalk, they spill onto the road and narrowly avoid a passing cab. A tall brunette girl makes her way around them all to reach a door that will take her to a completely different world, a quite world, Fernandez & Wells.
I’m already sat in that cozy world, my table is positioned toward the street so I can watch all the exciting hustle & bustle outside. It’s fun to witness a busy day like this, measuring time with the shadow of the Fernandez & Wells sign as the midday sun edges it across my table.
This is a magical place, full of fun people reading their books, iPads, computers, Kindles, papers and everything else, it’s funny how many different ways the 8 people who are reading can absorb information! Other people seem to be having very serious meetings while drinking fresh orange and lemon water.
As promised, here is my ‘behind the scenes diary’ from the recent Hugo Boss’s fragrance, ‘Nuit’ photo shoot for Glamour magazine.
We shot this in the rooftop suite of London’s Park Plaza Hotel, as we needed the best city views we could get and wow, we got them! The Houses of Parliament and The London Eye in one corner of my eye, The Shard and the rest of the city in the other. It was freezing out on the terrace but with each strike of Big Ben we were getting happier and more excited about our progress and the results.

What I love the most about Karl Lagerfeld & Carine Roitfeld’s exhibition, is how the prints both beautifully and confidently represent people’s personalities, at least in most cases! I’m not implying that I see Anja Rubik as a Geisha who has a fetish for Queen Elizabeth II.
Anna Wintour’s portrait says it all, it seems to describe her personality exactly, the way she wants the world to see her. Milla Jovovich’s ‘skeleton’ is sexy, animal, a little bit off in a way but ultimately as beautiful as the Chanel flower that sits on top of it. Sarah Jessica Parker looks so full of life, beauty and energy. Joan Smalls represents sexiness in a very classy way and she wears the exact little black jacket that I want! One of my favourites was Laetitia Casta, as it seemed to tell a whole story, in my head she was a mourning widow with lots of secrets, the portrait was quite dramatic, I hardly noticed the jacket.
Check it out for yourselves, these were my favourites:
This is one of my favorite recent buys “Live Love Laugh” by Scosha.
This Brooklyn based brand makes all their beautiful jewelry right there in the store. Friendship bracelets, earrings, rings, necklaces, you name it. You can spend hours in this tiny shop so beware, and if you ask they’ll show you around their work studio.
Love this place: Scosha, 64 Grand St (between Wythe and Kent Ave), Brooklyn, NYC
