Here is a little preview from today’s Aminaka Wilmont show. Wonderful collection, I was so happy to fit it in, more to follow.

Well, I hope you are all seeing big red hearts everywhere and are snacking on the huuuuge boxes of chocolate candies from your loved ones!
It’s my BIRTHDAY today and I thought I would share with you my favorite photo from my childhood, for several obvious reasons
1) my missing teeth
2) our perfect basin fringes (this picture always makes me wanna have a fringe again?)
3) my sister and I wearing almost matching outfits that our mum made.
Somehow the red and white checked tablecloth gives the picture a retro vibe, or is it just me
I’ve been busy all day shooting at the gorgeous Dorchester hotel in London’s Park Lane and I have a 3 am call time tomorrow! I’ll definitely celebrate my birthday and party all night go straight to bed, but before I do so I’ll put some sexy heels on big wooly socks on and have a lovely glass of red big cup of dandelion tea. I’ll wear my Herve Leger dress Marks &Spencer men’s pajamas. I’ll be all fresh tomorrow on my shoot as I won’t go to bed at all because it’s 8pm and I’m already in bed. I love my rock’n’roll life!
I hope you all have nights at least as crazy as mine! Have a lovely Valentine’s!
I don’t usually do bridal campaigns, but when I became engaged myself I was asked to do this shoot along with an interview for ‘Brides Magazine’. I decided to consider it ‘research’, I got to wear some amazing dresses by Marchesa, Monique Lhuillier, Elie Saab and Oscar de la Renta, it was a fabulous crew and all filmed in such a beautiful location in Pennsylvania. I’ll post the interview when it comes out in May but for now I thought I’d share this video shot by the very talented Lisa Loftus…

It is always nice to find things that are delicious and yet very healthy … ‘Manuka Honey’ is one of these things. This product is exclusively from New Zealand’s strongly scented ‘Manuka’ trees, and it’s honey at it’s most delicious, yet it also has an extra ‘healthy factor’.
In my family there was always plenty of honey. My grandma kept bees so honey was, and still is, commonplace. As a kid I loved to spread it on bread with butter, soooo delicious, but it was so readily come buy I’m not sure I fully appreciated it.
I definitely appreciate ‘Manuka’ honey now. It can be a bit pricey, especially if you use it in your diet AND as a beauty remedy, as I do. So what makes it so special and is it really worth it?
Honey has been a part of our diet for centuries, for its antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral properties. Manuka honey has been proved to have even higher antibacterial properties. Hopefully without completely boring you, scientists have compared Manuka with it’s medical ‘brother’, phenol, which is used in aspirin and as an anesthetic in medicine. Over prescription of antibiotics has resulted in resistant bacteria and Manuka is now used in hospitals to combat this. Each jar is marked with a ‘UMF rating‘ (Unique Manuka Factor), the higher the rating the greater the antibacterial activity.
I recently posted some backstage shots from Fuerteventura where I did a shoot for ‘Mint Velvet’.
I thought you might like to see some of the finished pics that were just published.
A week long detox, drinking nothing but juice and naively believing we are cleansing our bodies of toxins. Why wouldn’t we? Lots of health websites and books promote this to be the best and healthiest way to free your body of toxins.
So I believed it and I tried it… a few times actually. A week full of juices. The first day I was okay, I felt great, I was enjoying it and was full of energy and very positive about it. But, from my second day I started to have mood swings and had neither the energy or motivation to do anything, to work, let alone exercise. The only things I could think about were fries, chocolate, crisps and ice cream.
When my crazy week finished I was so happy it was over that I rewarded myself with that ‘dreamy’ chocolate, not the smartest thing to do obviously.
I don’t believe extremes are good for our bodies or health in any way. A week full of juices to compensate for a binge like, say Christmas or a vacation, is a hell of an extreme!
Now I still detox, I just don’t call it detox anymore. I include it in my LIFESTYLE, I do it every day without even noticing. I feel much healthier and much happier than I do after a week of juicing.
