To Invisalign or Not to Invisalign

Invisalign

Smile and laughter are such important things, it either means something great happened or that someone is very happy, even a forced smile can generate a positive feeling. No matter how grumpy you are, whenever you make yourself raise the corners of your mouth, somehow your brain can’t produce negative thoughts anymore. Have you ever tried that? It’s safe to say, smiling rocks.

I love to laugh; nothing could stop me from laughing (sorry to sound heavy), not even crooked teeth.

Although I had a dream, a dream about straight teeth, that even after wearing the retainers through my high school years, I never got.

This dream was part of a dream cycle; I constantly used to dream about them in rotation. There were five of them (I guess Monday through Friday, I tend to have dreamless weekends, who knows why?).

1-    I dreamt I could fly

2-    I dreamt I could do splits (I’m the most inflexible person you probably know and running doesn’t help)

3-    I dreamt that I could ice skate (I never ever even tried as a kid)

4-    I dreamt I had straight teeth

5-    I dreamt about scuba diving in the ocean

I decided I wanted to make my dreams come true.

Runner’s Granola

the-runners-granola_the-models-office

I dream about lentils and I dream about quinoa these days. Unusual? Yes. I guess my body is craving protein and this is its way of asking for it.

I ran 147 kilometers (91miles) in the past 2 weeks and followed a similar running pattern with the same intensity over the past five months, so I guess my body is allowed all the protein it craves.

Well, I’ve listened to my cravings and created my quinoa granola recipe for breakfasts. I’m never really happy with the commercial granola products so I made up my own.

It’s protein packed, especially thanks to the quinoa. I also added chia seeds, which I like to call the runner’s seeds (find out more here), together with flax seeds, pumpkin seeds and walnuts that provide plenty of the essential Omega-3 fatty acids, which my runner’s knee appreciates greatly.

You could use oats instead, but I like it with quinoa as it makes this recipe gluten free and also makes it different from any usual breakfasts, such as porridge.

Easter Weekend

Easter Weekend 1

Sometimes it feels like a lost fight from the beginning, like going into a boxing match with Apollo Creed, there’s just no chance, unless of course you’re Rocky…… Or in fact Ivan Drago, okay bad example!

I’m talking about my ‘lists’. I make lists for everything; I even make lists of my lists.

It somehow works for me, it keeps me organized, I even color code them (geek!).  3 schools, 2 jobs, I’d say there’s just no other way, but is it just a false system from the get go? Is there ever gonna be a list that’s completely checked of before yet another one appears?

I’ve got news for you…

citizenMag

It seems to be that whenever I have a little bit of spare time on my hands, I like to fill it with more projects. It’s as if I don’t like to sleep? Well, sleep is important I should know better, but unfortunately I have to go without much of it these days. That’s all fine, because there’s so much exciting stuff happening in my life at the moment, so that should definitely make up for it.

I’m so happy to announce, that last week I officially became a contributing writer & photographer for the citizenM hotel magazine, appropriately called citizenMag.

My weekend…

Billysburg

My weekend in photos, below clockwise:

1- The Dance Theatre of Harlem ballerinas performing in Times Square on Saturday. It was amazing to see how talented they are. All the Times Square billboards were advertising their school thanks to my man’s company. I was incredibly proud!

2- Our roof terrace, trying to take in as much sun as possible.

3- My room key card to a newly opened CitizenM hotel in Times Square, more about that soon!

4- My running water bottle.

5- At my flight school in Ronkonkoma on Saturday. I was learning take offs & landings, turns by using pedals appropriately, climbs and tons of other stuff. I had a proud moment when a captain of Southwest Airlines’ Boeing 737 saluted me.

6- My energy gel for running. It’s disgusting, but does the job. I did 24k this Sunday, my Marathon is definitely sneaking up on me.

7- Fun quote from Juice Press.

8- Spring has sprung in New York! Union Square Market.

Weekend in Photos April 12th

Comfy as always, I need to have flat shoes to be able to use pedals in the plane. I’m wearing Converse sneakers, J Brand jeans, Acne tank top, Marc Jacobs blazer, Cos belt, Dolce & Gabbana aviators (of course!) and Mulberry Bayswater bag.
