Elle Czech… #modelruns

Recently Czech Elle asked me to do a little interview for them about running. I was really chuffed as it’s still a fairly new hobby of mine, so to be asked to share my views, experience and opinion is a huge compliment! Thank you very much Elle!

As it always happens, they didn’t use the whole piece, so I’m sharing it here on my blog, perhaps to inspire more runners and non-runners out there? Unfortunatelly it’s only in Czech at the moment, I’ll translate it, if I ever get some sleep? Or perhaps pop it into Google translate and see what happens?

My quote of the day? “Shut up and run”, so I’m going to do exactly that!

Let me introduce you to… Jenny

Jenny makes fashion accessible to those who find it complicated, she challenges you to be creative when you get bored or lost, she pushes your fashion boundaries, she can teach you how to simply enjoy fashion, have fun with it, yet she can inspire you to use it as a magical healing tool to make everything better. She shows you how to make your day positive just by dressing yourself well in the morning. Jenny simply makes fashion exciting, inspiring, refreshing and for me, she makes me feel comfortable and not embarrassed of what I wear and be confident to express myself with it.

I first met Jenny about a year ago, we shot together a fashion story in the streets of Manhattan, I was completely taken by her attitude to fashion. I found it to be refreshingly new and exciting. I felt a bit lost and unmotivated at the time, all the street style photos with no other message felt a bit vacant and uninspiring to me. I love fashion myself; I grew up in the fashion industry, but felt like I was struggling with the fashion side of the blog. Jenny had a different approach; her fashion psychology was very unique. She sees and uses fashion as meditation, as a medicine, a tool to improve your confidence and to express yourself in a non-apologetic kind of way. She helps you find not just your fashion confidence, but your over all confidence.

A New York City based stylist with a portfolio of clients to die for- H&M, ANN INC, Joe Fresh, and Cole Haan among many others, and a blog I adore- Your Soul Style. Jenny agreed to do an interview for The Model’s Office readers! There’s no point going on and on, find for yourselves some great style tips and tricks and perhaps get reminded what good fashion is all about!

“Sleep Faster!”

Well, I finally taught myself how to sleep faster, as Arnold Schwarzenegger would put it, so my blog is back on track with so much new content.

Expect new behind the scenes, in the past month alone I was lucky enough to work with the best photographers out there and my favorite Frenchies- David Bellemere and Antoine Verglas. I also walked in New York Fashion Week this season.

There’ll be a revamp of my city guides- Los Angeles, Miami Prague, Amsterdam and New York will get some nice new coverage and plenty of travel tips for rest of the world too. I’ve interviewed so many amazing and inspiring women for you, one of them coming up later today!

Fitness tips & tricks will be coming as well, more yoga, boxing and Pilates will be mentioned this time as well as more running of course, I’ll teach you some great knee exercises to avoid runner’s knee. I’ll deliver some new, healthy recipes for you to try, including a healthy version of the chocolate chip cookie, which has taken me months to perfect!! Lots more health tips of course, especially for healthy skin.

Purple Popsicles

Summer absolutely cannot happen without popsicles, for that we should all blame 11 year old Frank Epperson’s inability to tidy up after himself. So thank you Frank!

Here’s the recipe to one of my healthy versions of the ice pop I like to snack on once in a while. This purple version was actually invented today as a treat for my friends, who are visiting.

This will make 6 ice pops, these ones made in my favorite popsicle molds, available on Amazon: Groovy Freezer Popsicle Molds. It will take 3 minutes to make, so don’t even try to play the tired card:

– 1 cup frozen blueberries

– ½ cup UNSWEETENED almond milk

– 1 tbsp of RAW honey

As I mentioned a few times before, it is essential to use RAW honey, not the highly processed variety, which lacks pollen and all the beneficial vitamins, so look out for the raw version in the grocery stores.

Blend all these ingredients together, fill your popsicle molds- really fill, then keep them in the freezer for a couple of hours and voila, you’re popped, not pooped at all, but popped!

If you’re having trouble getting your popsicles out of the molds (which I always do), try giving the main plastic part a quick run under the cold water and then apply a gentle pressure to take your ice lollies out.

A girl caught between two worlds!!

I’m coming to the end of one of the most amazing weeks I have ever experienced. It involved a daily horseback ride through spiraling canyons, plush valleys and Clint Eastwood worthy desert landscapes. It had hikes, top to bottom of the majestic Grand Canyon, 12 hours without encountering another soul through that spirituality-inducing monolith. Countless other treks and adventures, the death of another pair of hiking boots that will be buried here when I’m gone and a shower every other day if I’m lucky, or should I say, if I’m honest?

However, tomorrow as I lock up the one room cabin that has been my home and throw my rucksack into the back of the beat up 2002 4×4 I rented, among my thick socks, water bottle, torn Levi’s, pen knife and Stetson hat, will be my Isabel Marant shoes and my Dolce & Gabbana dress, as tomorrow I have a date with Pablo Picasso.

It’s time to say goodbye to the most star lit skies I’ve ever seen and hello to the Casinos lit one, the one that spins over the city of Las Vegas.

I’m wearing Dolce & Gabbana dress, Isabel Marant heels, Rolex watch, Scosha bracelet, Arizona smile and a Stetson cowboy hat, obviously!

24/7 My Monday through Sunday

Sometimes a week goes by so fast that, you have no idea how it happened, but it’s a Sunday!

It’s almost like a magical troll held your hand, you closed your eyes for a minute and were flown through those 7 days!

This past week felt very much like that, however, I do like to look back at all the great stuff that happened, what new things I’ve learned and be grateful for all the new adventures that made time fly so.

Hola Holland!

For a new adventure to begin, then one must end..…

I’m not willing to accept that. I don’t feel like I’m done with my Prague adventure, it’s been way too fantastic, so I decided to prolong it and allow myself to absorb it properly over the next few days, while I set out on a new great adventure… in the Netherlands.

Prague has been more than kind to me. I successfully completed the Prague Marathon, shot for some great Czech magazines, including Marianne with Matus Toth yesterday, can’t wait to share these with you, getting up at 4:30am was totally worth it again. I also did a couple of interviews, this time for health magazines, which are coming out soon! With my friends we visited a few lovely coffee places, that have been on my list (of course!) forever, such as Ema Espresso Bar, Muj Salek Kavy and Choco-Café, I’ll share these with you in my next posts too. Some serious sightseeing happened and I bought books to read in Czech, but mostly, I got to enjoy my FAMILY.

And my whole family isn’t in Prague, we’re missing a very important member who lives in Holland and that’s where my next adventure begins; otherwise my world wouldn’t be complete.

On my list in Holland? I’ll be visiting the space agency near Leiden, oh yes, thanks to the most amazing sister in the world with the coolest job ever I’ll get a chance to sit inside of a Spaceship, I’m afraid flying the Cessna Skyhawk won’t be enough anymore. We’ll make a stop at Keukenhof, which after 50 trips to Holland I never managed to do. So tulips please, keep it up! What else? Delft for Vermeer, Haarlem, cause I’ve never been, the Hague to walk down my sister’s memory lane and Amsterdam, of course, to do a photo shoot with one of my favorite Dutch clients, Hunkemoller.

Adventure within an adventure. Double-venture? Or maybe… Ahhhhhhhdventure!!! Hmmm, a bit much? Someone seriously needs some sleep here…. Off to the airport…
