The classic Bayswater by Mulberry, a new addition to my ‘bag family’.
Okay, this is what has happened in my life since last Friday…
I had a crazy week, not rare, although this time I even had to schedule toilet breaks! Every day this week started with a 4am alarm call, which my partner, obviously, loves. Hopefully this will explain my blog silence…
Okay, my 24/7, what happened?
I met with Dita von Teese last Friday which, turned into something amazing! Last night we launched her lingerie line for Bloomingdale’s, surrounded by paparazzi, honestly I left with the confidence of a Nobel Prize winner. We also did a morning show on Fox television and filmed an episode of ‘Extra’ with Hilaria Baldwin; of course this included her daily yoga pose! On top of this, and before I go on, I this week worked with one of the best teams I’ve ever had the privilege to meet.
So, what else this week? With my girlfriends Alyssa and Nicole, we somehow managed not to jump out of the window at the Kangoo Power class, Google it, you’ll understand! I ran my 5th half-marathon in a month, and alas, got my first ever, black toenail, I also squeezed in several shorter runs! I did 23 castings. I convinced the federal flying committee that it’s safe and clever to let me control a plane and I flew a Cessna Skyhawk myself, an indescribable experience! I took a great class with my friend Jenny on Saturday, at The School of International Photography and, I can now take better photos than ever, I hope, just ask me about ‘white balance’! I today passed my nutrition exam and successfully completed my US, UK and CZ taxes without getting overwhelmed or throwing my Mac at the wall. I partied and danced like crazy with Dita at the McKittrick Hotel, which is so cool BTW. I created three new recipes, which will make it here soon and have one more, cool, announcement to make on April 10th. Nike custom-made some sneakers for me and I can’t wait to kick the black toe’s ass with them. I, finally, ordered some Triangl bikinis, about time! What made my week even happier, was writing this post, I miss it, I miss writing, but with my new desk delivered yesterday, it will make my writing even more joyful, so no more excuses!
Hello weekend!
PS: More on Dita von Teese behind the scenes soon. Dita has also agreed to do an interview for me, so stay tuned!
Can you believe it’s been a year since the last Oscar night? I feel like I wrote my last ‘Oscars’ post only yesterday.
There’s no point in worrying about how fast time goes, so let’s get lost in some fashion, shall we?
I’m so excited that Jared Leto won, well deserved and I really enjoyed Matthew McConaughey’s speech about his hero- it’s always him in 10 years, so he’s always got something to chase. I might steal that one, a really lovely way to look at it.
Here’s my own take on last night’s Oscar dresses and Oscar party dresses:
I’ve been craving soup these days; salads are just not warming enough.
My mum’s lentil soup, as she says: “to make you rich” is a must to be served on the first day of the year. According to Czech tradition, the lentils will bring money to you and your family all year long.
I don’t know about that, but the soup will definitely make you rich from the inside. It will fill you up but not weigh you down, so you’re full of energy for those busy winter days.
It’s very healthy of course, no shortcuts here, full of protein thanks to the lentils, which I crave so badly now due to my marathon trainings. Homemade vegetable stock (recipe here) gives it that extra deliciousness and homey feel and taste, but if you don’t have it, use low sodium vegetable stock instead, available in all the grocery stores. You can also mix and match vegetables, just use ‘what’s left in the fridge’. I usually put carrots in, but as you can see in the photo, there’s no orange in sight (I was out of them as I used them for my ‘skin glower’ juice this morning). I replaced carrots with frozen peas (fresh are of course impossible to find unless you’re somewhere like Peru).
Sending lots of warmth from LA LA Land, where the sun is shining, the waves are big, celebrities hike, Baywatch guards are on super duty and mountain lions are your neighbours.
On my 5 day schedule there’s so much exciting stuff happening, a photo shoot, some cool castings with Willy West Coast, a serious Santa Monica Mountains hike, let’s see if we can make it to the highest peak again? I’m reenergized and excited about my running again. No need for 10 layers of clothing, no more worries about breaking my legs on iced roads or freezing to death, growing icicles in my hair. Hoho, Moonshadows cocktails are definitely in my plan too, and perhaps a chat with Larry King at Nate ‘n Al’s? My favorite juices from Pressed Juicery will be drunk in buckets and there’s always time for some art and views at Getty and yes, swimmimg will happen too, often. Most of all, it will be my big ‘three-zero’, it’s my birthday’io this Friday and where else to celebrate than in Hollywood, the land where dreams are allowed to be big and they do come true! Let’s definitely challenge that!
Will keep you posted on my new wrinkles and other happenings, stay tuned!
