Spring? Not yet.

Winter Boots

No spring in sight in NYC, snow is in the forecast next week yet again, so I’m counting on my favorite winter boots, by Sorel.

They are super warm, cozy and not slippery. They keep me happy and alive in between the castings! It’s actually true, as I almost missed a casting last time I didn’t wear them (big drama!). I found myself on my butt yet again somewhere near 28th and 10th when I was walking into the studio (the most deserted studio in Manhattan) during a surprise snowstorm. I’ll never make that mistake again. What’s your winter boot?

Seed up!

Seed up

This is a superfood bomb!

What we’re really trying to achieve for health and beauty, is to get the optimum amount of vitamins, minerals, good oils, protein and other essential nutrients into our bodies with minimum effort and without having to constantly gauge ourselves?

Well it is more than possible! A spoonful of sesame, sunflower, flax, chia and pumpkin seeds allows us to do exactly that, without putting undue stress on our digestive system.

I like to premix all these seeds in a jar so I can use them easily on a daily basis. Every morning I take a mixed tablespoon of these five different seeds. I freshly ground them, as their nutrients are better absorbed this way (you don’t have to, do a week’s supply at a time if you like). I then add them to either in my green juice, my porridge or simply sprinkle them on a fresh fruit salad. It’s essential to keep them in a dark sealed container and refrigerated, otherwise they won’t last long.

So what’s so magical and healthy about them? Well, everything!

Motivated.

Hotel Room RoutineHow can you keep motivated to exercising during this cold weather?

I’ve had lots ups and downs, but I’m trying to stick with it. I’m really enjoying my new Ballet Beautiful DVD as well as working the classic… the one and only Tracy Anderson… It’s always nice to have something new and different, remember, keep those muscles confused.

Stay positive and stay tuned, ‘Hotel Room Routine #3’ is coming soon!

Oscars

Oscars

Did you watch the Oscars?

Well I missed it! However, the first thing I did this morning was switch on my computer and checking out all the winners and the red carpet dresses.

First let me say, I’m so excited for J.Law, I love her, I think we’ll see a lot from that girl in the future. And don’t get me started on ‘The Hunger Games’ (I’m a bit obsessed with the books), there couldn’t be a better Katniss.

All the winners are so exciting this year, I can’t wait to see ‘Django Unchained’, yes, don’t kill me I haven’t seen it yet! I will soon!

Now the dresses, hmmm… they were a bit disappointing, nothing really wowed me enough. Most of the dresses were exactly what I expected them to be, classic Oscar dresses, no new ideas. Although I loved the way Jennifer Lawrence looked, even though I was secretly hoping she’d show up in those sweatpants she was promising. The curves of her dress, her porcelain make- up was perfect for it, and her attitude, so cool! The dress was like a perfect cream topping on a cake, I would definitely eat it. And the back necklace, an interesting idea, she simply looked gorgeous, well, Oscar worthy! I think she handled the fall really well too!
